Community Solar Update (August 5, 2010) - The Department of Revenue has issued final rules for community solar! these final draft rules become effective September 5, but may be relied upon to make decisions regarding community solar projects.
Community Solar Update (May 31, 2010) - Governor Gregoire signed SB 6658 into law on March 25, 2010 (see picture). Since then, the Department of Revenue has held a final public hearing on developing the administrative rules for the statute. We expect the rules to be finalized by mid-June and be in effect by mid-July. This law and subsequent rules give long-awaited clarity to a uniquely Washington approach to encouraging solar projects in communities. The idea behind community solar is to allow citizens to participate in the develoment of solar systems if they are not able to do it themselves.
